After The World Trade Center..
A memorial article in honor of those who were lost.

by Rev. James G.W. Fisher

The World Trade Center New York City, the paradigm of International business, security, and financial convergence.  The most incredible example of unity ever conceived...No one ever imagined in their lifetime that this beautiful paradigm of creation could be lost in a single day.  The following day, what once was the mighty twin towers which were such an integral part of the New York City skyline was lost along with thousand of innocent lives.

A Phone Call, Confusion,  Then Silence Forever...

Never did one imagine they would get a call from an acquaintance at the WTC while the event was occurring.  He had just escaped out of Tower #1, describing how so many people were looking up in the sky seeing tons of debris falling from the sky above.

Imagine the man describing in broken up sentences about seeing people falling from the upper floor windows, seeing them smash into the ground, and expressing in his own words "literally all of Hell's fury has become a reality".   He remains outside in shock not knowing what do, just standing there observing the situation.  He continues talking on the cell phone then suddenly without warning, the communication is cut off...  Two days later I discovered  the man was lost when the first building collapsed; he was struck by falling debris and lost his life.

The reality of the situation is all too real.  Airport security had become too lax in their measures under the assumption that no one would be bold enough to attempt what brought the demise of the World Trade Center.  Quite apparently they were wrong.
