Pushing The Limits... |

PIN staff pushed the limits
with the unimaginable task of covering not one, not two, but THREE trade shows
at the same time, in the same city! In March, 2003, the PIN staff had to
handle the task of featuring reviews of products from the ASD/AMD trade show
which handled primarily general merchandise, the PMA, photographic industry
trade show, and last, but by no means the least, the Futon Expo 2003 trade
show.

Just
imagine reviewing such a massive number of products and services with such
diversity it is literally mind boggling! Despite the odds, PIN staff
worked together to support the editor and we managed to not only cover all three
shows efficiently, but rather we did the best job we have done in years in
reporting the news on the latest gadgets and thing-a-ma-bobs.

Well,
it was incredible to be able to see such a diverse collection of products from
each of the industries. Although there was plenty of diversity, the PMA show
proved to be the very best with an incredible collection of innovative new
imaging equipment and accessories.
PMA 2003
The
PMA show was most interesting with Panasonic, Duracell, and Energizer batteries
undergoing an independent test. Duracell Ultra batteries were roughly 10%
less flashes than the competitors! Pacific Image Electronics was present
again with their innovative transparency/negative scanners.

The
PMA show had quite an enormous turnout of qualified leads and the exhibitors on
the average were quite pleased with the results. Sigma Corporation had
their new SD9 Digtial SLR that was really getting the attention.
The breakthrough Sigma SD9 camera features
the FOVEON®
X3TM image sensor which is the
world's first image-sensor that features three layers of photo detectors. There
is much more to it but you really need to see the review on the
SD9 Camera to really appreciate the item.

The
SD9 is probably the most cost effective, high end digital camera available on
the market today. With a vast variety of lenses and accessories, it
promises to be a serious item to compete with.

Toys, sporting goods, jewelry, novelty items, and
more
at ASD/AMD
2003...
The
ASD/AMD trade show, the
largest retail trade show in the Western Hemisphere,
proved
to be yet another magnificent show even better than the past.
With more than 30 years in the variety and general
merchandise industry, ASD/AMD Trade Shows have the formula for success. The ASD/AMD
Trade Show provides you access to over 7,000 displays of the latest merchandise
independent retailers are looking for.
Products
seen at the ASD/AMD Trade Show included: teddy bears, stuffed animals,
|
figurines, dolls, collectibles, glassware,
home décor, general gifts, sporting goods, jewelry, and much more for you
to peruse at your leisure. |
 |
With
discount retailing driving the nation's economic recovery, value is in vogue,
and variety and general merchandise is the hottest category for wholesale
buying. As the nation's largest and most trusted event for moving general
merchandise, ASD/AMD Trade Show-Las Vegas offers exhibitors a unique and dynamic
marketplace that is International in scope, attracts a broad spectrum of
buyers looking to place orders of all sizes in all categories and price points,
and since the primary ASD/AMD attendees are executives from independent retail
chains, buying groups and consortiums, they are authorized to buy!

If this isn't enough, ASD/AMD provided show exhibitors with the additional benefit of its powerful
marketing practices–proven promotional and marketing strategies that
aggressively target the industry's most eligible buyers, increasing your
company's sales potential across the board.
Futon Expo 2003

T he
Futon Expo was a bit of a let down except for two really spectacular new
products. The first one, Relaxan, is an innovative new concept in
orthopedic mattresses. Just imagine a queen size mattress which is
shrink-wrapped and weighs only 60 pds! It is shippable via UPS and cuts shipping
costs dramatically!

Another
big item was the CBT Sophia Pillow and the new
Comfort-U™ Total Body Support Pillow. Designed
by a registered nurse, the Comfort-U Total Body Support Pillow molds itself to
the shape of your body to cradle you in complete comfort from head to toe.!
In
closing, the three trade shows each had their own
merit for the exhibitors and attendees alike. Each was unique and provided
innovative new products that we were able to report on. Overall, an
experience which was well worth the labor. |
